Piffl was founded in 2020 in Gothenburg and is now available in over 190 locations
Background
It all started in the summer of 2020 when one of the founders came up with an idea he had been thinking about for a long time and saw the need for. The idea was to make sports and outdoor activities more accessible to everyone, without requiring ownership. Many sports and activities like volleyball, kubb, tennis, basketball, and football require their own equipment to be carried out. The founders saw that many sports and activity areas in cities and communities stand empty because visitors often don't bring the required equipment.
The existing structure requires those who want to engage in outdoor activities to plan ahead, carry their equipment, and have the financial resources to purchase it. Piffl was started out of a desire to change this – to create a sharing solution where sports and play are always welcome and accessible to everyone, anytime.
